Day 1:  Marrakech to Imlil-Aremd

After breakfast, travel to the village of Imlil to join guides and mules.  There will be a one hour walk to the Trek starting point at Aremd, elevation 1900 meters. The first night will be in a local lodge.

 

Day 2: Aremd to Neltner Refuge

The first climb will begin from Aremd to join the valley of Sidi Chamharouche, elevation 2250 meters. Following lunch and break, the second climb will take place from Marrabout to reach the Neltner Refuge at the foot of Toubkal, elevation 3207 meters. Accommodation will be at the Refuge.

 

Day 3:  Neltner Refuge to Djebel Toubkal (peak)

From Neltner it will be about 3 hours trekking to get to the peak of Djebel Toubkal, passing by panoramic views.  Lunch will be at the mountain top. In the afternoon the descent will begin towards Aremd, reaching lodging before sunset.

 

Day 4:  Imlil-Aremd to Marrakech

The descent will continue towards Imlil village. Return to Marrakech in late afternoon with wonderful memories of this unforgettable trek.

4 Day Trip Trekking in Toubkal Mountain

Day 1: Marrakesh to Dades Gorges

Pickup from riad at 8am, travel south through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages, passing “Tizi n’ Tichka”, the highest road pass in Africa. Lunch will be in Ouarzazate followed by a visit to Skoura oasis and the exquisitely restored Amridil Kashah. The day continues driving through the Rose Valley.  Dinner and accommodation will be in a quaint riad in Dades Gorges.

 

Day 2,3 and 4:  Trekking in Dades

The three day adventure begins in the area of Dades Mountains and Gorges with a team of local Berbers including a cook, a guide, mule team driver and mules.  The mules will carry all the camp and personal gear. You will experience the unique way of life of the nomadic people in the Atlas Mountains. Trekking will be about 5 hours daily, first night spent with a Berber family in their house.  The next two nights are in Nomadic caves.

 

Day 5:  Dades Gorges to Merzouga Desert

After breakfast there will be opportunity to explore the famous Dades Mountains and Gorges then onto the Todgha Gorges and Valley. Lunch will be in the ancient berber village Rissani, followed by a camel ride to the camp in the middle of Sahara’s Merzouga sand dunes. You can try sandboarding, view a glorious desert sunset and enjoy Berber hospitality including music around a campfire before settling in your tent.

 

Day 6: Merzouga Desert to Agdez

After breakfast there will be time to explore the Sahara dunes, then enjoy a camel ride and travel through Alnif, with its famous views of the Anti Atlas Mountains.  Lunch will be in the Berber village of Nkob, followed by a drive to Morocco’s longest valley, the Draa Valley and its palm grove oasis. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in a restored Kasbah.

 

Day 7:  Agdez to Marrakesh

After breakfast you will visit Ait Ben Haddo, the UNESCO protected Kasbah seen in many films and television series including the popular Game of Thrones.  Then travel will follow the ancient caravan route from Timbuktu to Telouet, one of Morocco’s most historical Kasbahs. After lunch return to Marrakesh in late afternoon.

7 Days Trip Trekking in Dades Mountains

Day 1: Marrakesh to Agdez

Pickup from riad at 8am, travel south through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and through “Tizi n’ Tichka”, the highest road pass in Africa. Then you will follow the ancient caravan route from Timbuktu to Telouet, one of Morocco’s most historical Kasbahs.  Lunch in a local restaurant will be followed by a visit to Ait Ben Haddo, the UNESCO protected Kasbah seen in many films and television series including the popular Game of Thrones. Then you will travel by the Anti Atlas mountains to the Draa Valley and settle for the night in a restored Kasbah in the Agdez Oasis.

 

Day 2: Agdez to Sahara Desert M’Hamid Dunes

In the morning there will be time to explore the Draa Valley with Tamnogalt kasbah and village. Lunch in Zagora will be followed by a visit to the ancient library in Tamgrout as well a stop at a local potter producing ceramics using hand methods.

Later in the afternoon you will arrive at the village M’Hamid and arrive at the overnight camp, in time for a splendid Sahara sunset, enjoy Berber hospitality including music around a campfire.

 

Days 3, 4 and 5: Desert Trekking

The adventure continues with a Berber nomadic guide, cook, camel driver and team of camels joining the group.  You will experience the nomadic way of desert life, trekking for about 5 hours daily as a family group, moving from place to place.  The camels will carry all the camp and personal gear. Upon arrival in the afternoon, the Berber team will set up camp, collect wood for campfire and prepare dinner.  You will be invited to assist in these preparations. The last night will be in the famous Chegaga Dunes, the highest being over 200 metres high, be treated to a spectacular sunset and one last memorable night in a Berber Camp.

 

Day 6:  Chegaga Dunes to Marrakesh

After breakfast, you will off road for three hours, stop for tea with a Nomad family in the Desert. Lunch will be in Taznakht, Morocco’s carpet capital. Return to Marrakesh riad will be by late afternoon.
