2 Day Trip - Marrakesh to Zagora Dunes
Day 1
Meeting at your riad at 8 am we will travel south through Berber villages in the High Atlas mountains and Tizi nTichka, elevation 2260m, the highest road pass in Africa.
After lunch in Ouarzazate at a local restaurant, we will travel through the Anti Atlas mountains and Tizi-n-Tinififft mountain pass, elev 1700 m, to the rich Draa Valley. This is Morocco’s longest valley, stretching 1200 km. We will off road, exploring the famous oasis, the palm groves and the valley. Upon arriving at Zagora desert, you will enjoy a one and a half hours camel ride to the desert bivouac and view a spectacular sunset over the dunes. A lovely dinner and Berber music around a campfire await you.
Day 2
After breakfast and another camel ride, we travel north to visit kasbah Ait Ben Haddo, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most famous kasbah. After lunch we continue north on backroads through Onila valley to the famous kasbah of Telouet. We will then follow an ancient caravan route from Timbuktu and return to Marrakech late in the afternoon.
Day 1

We will then follow an ancient caravan route from Timbuktu, arriving at the famous Kasbah of Telouet for a visit.
Next we will travel through the Ounila Valley, passing dwelling Berber caves dug into the river cliffs, villages and numerous kasbahs.
After lunch, we will tour Kasbah Ait BenHaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most famous kasbah. Then we travel to the Valley of the Thousand Kasbahs and arrive at Skoura Oasis to explore the impressive palm grove, local architecture and settle in a historic riad for the night.
Day 2
We will visit the imposing Amerhidil Kasbah. We will pass the most beautiful kasbahs in southern Morocco. Making our way through Ouarzazate to the African Hollywood you can tour Atlas Film Studios where many famous movies have been produced.
Travelling north, pausing for lunch in a restaurant in High Atlas mountains, we return to your Marrakech riad later in the afternoon.
